WANTED: MULTI-CULTURAL NIGHT VOLUNTEERS

Supervisors for Game Stations (3-6+ people): ideal positions for “big kids”…does anyone have or know some teens who would like to be put to work for 30-40 minutes? This is also an ideal for “pairs of people” to do together. We will have 3 Chinese jumprope stations going on up on stage, and a “Tic Tac Toe”-like game from Ghana at the game table and also a “Mancala”-like single player game from Indonesia. It would be idea to have a couple people at each game station to explain/direct/supervise children as needed.

Supervisors for Game Arts & Crafts Table (ideally 2 people): We plan to put out paper & crayons for kids to color molas from Panama and also draw pictures of things they are thankful for….”Gregory Flags of Thanks”. It would be ideal having some adults provide a little direction to kids and also explain to them that the flags are inspired by Tibetan Prayer Flags (per FYIs that will be posted on the wall). These people would also need to help shut down/clean up this area around 6:35-6:40 before the performance starts.

Welcome Person/Greeter: we need someone to greet people as they arrive and pass out passports/mapfest scanger hunt questions….again…only for 30-40 minutes tops.

Donation Box: help needed manning/monitoring the donation box

Set up/Clean up crews: needed as well.

If you can help, please reply to this email or contact Lynda Lykes at lykeslynda@gmail.com or Jennifer Lucero at jimandjen2000@comcast.net THANK
YOU!!

MAPFEST: Please take a moment this month to view “The Amazing Traveling Map” show brought to Gregory Heights courtesy of the Geography Enrichment Committee/Passport Club. Please email Jennifer Lucero at jimandjen2000@comcast.net if you would like a set of Questions/Answers emailed to you. There are USA and World Map questions for both Primary & Intermediate Students.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We needs a crew of volunteers to help systematically take the maps down and organize them for their trip home to Olympia.

Possible timeframes: Thursday, January 26th any time between 2:15-4:15 and/or Friday, January 27th at 8:30 a.m.

Please email Jennifer Lucero at jimandjen2000@comcast.net or Lynda Lykes at lykeslynda@gmail.com if you are able to help out!!
