Spanish Club: MUCHAS GRACIAS TO SPANISH CLUB VOLUNTEERS!! We are off to a fabulous start this year thanks to the wonderful support of Spanish Club parents!
Thank you to JENNIFER FICHAMBA for helping with registration, cutting shapes for our first art project and also for donating a special surprise from Ecuador that will be given to the kids at our year end party.
Thank you also to LESLIE UNKE for copying student worksheets to put into the notebooks…our first official “notebook day” is tomorrow and the notebooks are all labeled and ready to go!!
Thanks to LINNEA KNUTSON and TAMMY JAGADICS for cutting shapes in preparation for our Guatemalan kite making project.
Special thanks also to SAMANTHA CEDERLUND for her many many hours of shape cutting in preparation for our kite project.
THANK YOU LYNDA LYKES for helping with art project clean up and also assembling passports!!
We have lots of shapes left over, which is fantastic because we will need them for projects later in the year (and years to come!)
PTSA Membership Winners: Congratulations to our October winner’s for the PTSA membership drawings were: Rebecca Winnier and Lisa Corner. They will each receive an apple pie as soon as the orders come in! As of 11/3/11 We are at 187 members. It is not too late to become a valuable member of our PTSA! PTSA General Membership Meeting: Come find out what is happening in our school by attending our PTSA General Membership meeting, Tomorrow, November 8th, 6:00pm in the Library. Free childcare & refreshments offered.
Picture Re-Takes: Picture Retake day is scheduled for Tomorrow November 8th
Disney on Ice: Come join the fun this Wednesday at 7:30 for the Disney on Ice Show. It is a great show, fun for the entire family! You can purchase tickets for just $13.00. (They are usually 20.00 a ticket.) Contact Jill Mudge, ghvolunteers@comcast.net by tomorrow Nov. 8th if you want to buy tickets.
Student Leadership Meeting: Our next student leadership meeting will be held tomorrow, Nov 8th at 12:50 in room 245.
Health Screening Day: Need several volunteers to help with the health screening day, this Thursday November 10th. Contact Cheryl Smith, Cheryl.Smith@highlineschools.org, if you can help.
Veteran’s Day Assembly: This Thursday, Nov 10th at 1:30, our students, along with the Sylvester band, will be performing in an assembly to honor our veterans. Parents are welcome to attend. NO SCHOOL on Friday Nov 11th in honor of Veteran’s Day.

Reflections Art Worshop: “Don’t forget! The Reflections Art Workshop is scheduled for November 18th 1:45-3:00. There are only a few spots left, and the registration deadline is November 11. Pie Sale Update: We will receive a net profit of approximately $4500 from our pie sale! Thank you to everyone who participated. Please remember your pie order will be ready to pick up on Wednesday 11/16 after 12pm. We will also have a few pies available for sale that day, supplies are limited though.
Student Lead Conferences: Scheduling has begun for student lead conferences to be held November 21-23. Your teacher should have already sent you a form to ask your meeting day/time preferences. Once you receive your appointment confirmation, we ask that you make every effort to show up at that time so that the flow of students/parents can run smoothly. There will be no school for your child except for when your child attends their conference with you.
Pizza Night: The next Round Table Pizza night is coming up on November 30 from 4:30-7:30pm. This time we will have a canned food drive to benefit the Highline Food Bank; and Round Table Pizza will donate a pizza party to the class that brings in the most non-perishable food items. More details to come in the upcoming LOOPS….

PE & RECESS Donations: Gregory Heights PE/recess are always in need of soccer balls, footballs, basketballs, rubber balls that may be sitting around your house/ apartment and not being used anymore. Please feel free to donate them to Gregory to be used by our kids at recesses and PE classes. Please contact Mr. S Scott.Stubberfield@highlineschools.org or just drop them by his office.
LOVE IS….. The Sprint for Sponsorship runs throughout the month of November. Don’t forget to ask your favorite local doctor, dentist, doula….any business or even your boss to donate to our “Love Is…” auction by Sponsoring us or by placing an Ad in our auction booklet. To join the Sprint please email Brenda at sutherfield5@comcast.net and you’ll be given tips and ideas along with a packet of procurement forms and sponsorship letters.
Show your Gregory student or your child’s teacher or favorite staff person some love with a “Love Is…” note! The cost is $20 payable to GHPTSA. Your note will be printed in our auction booklet. Send you love note text to Brenda at sutherfield5@comcast.net and either donate the $20 online at http://ghptsa.ejoinme.org/giveGHlove or send your check to school.
